How EduLift, the scholarship portal of Osheagba Charity Foundation, handles your personal information.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
1. Who we are
EduLift is the online portal for the Osheagba Charity Foundation Tuition Scholarship Programme, coordinated by The Community Elites Academy Ltd. The portal serves applicants, selected beneficiaries, sponsors and programme staff. In this policy, "we" means the Foundation and its coordinator acting for the programme.
2. Information we process
- Account and contact details: name, email address, phone number, JAMB registration number used for beneficiary sign-in, and your sign-in credentials (passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication service).
- Identity verification: your National Identification Number (NIN) and the identity details returned when it is verified, such as name, date of birth and photograph, used to confirm eligibility and prevent duplicate or proxy applications.
- Application and academic records: institution, course, level, admission letter, course forms, semester results, CGPA, passport photograph and any answers or documents you submit through programme forms.
- Beneficiary programme records: scholarship status, eligibility decisions, course registrations, support conversations and staff decisions about your records.
- Payment-related information: tuition requests, school fee invoices and receipts, payment records, and for payouts where they apply, bank account details that are verified with our banking provider. Tuition is paid to institutions under programme rules.
- Notifications: your notification preferences and, if you allow phone notifications, a device notification token.
- Technical and security information: sign-in sessions, passkeys you register, security settings, device and browser type, and activity logs used to keep accounts secure and to audit important actions.
3. Why we use it
- To receive, verify and assess scholarship applications against the published eligibility rules.
- To manage beneficiaries, monitor academic performance and process tuition support.
- To give sponsors controlled reports about the programme they support.
- To send account, decision and security messages by email, text message or phone notification.
- To protect accounts, prevent fraud and keep an audit trail of programme decisions and payments.
5. How we protect it
Access is controlled on our servers, not only in the app. Records are separated by role, so applicants, beneficiaries, sponsors and staff can only reach information they are allowed to see. Sensitive documents are kept in private storage and opened through short-lived links. Identity checks and payments are carried out on our servers, and important actions are logged.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is active. Scholarship, academic, payment and audit records are kept after an account is closed because the programme must be able to account for decisions and funds. We have not yet set a fixed retention period for these records; when we do, it will be published here.
7. Your choices and rights
- View your profile and programme status in the portal.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Turn phone notifications on or off from your account settings.
- Ask us to delete your account, as explained below.
8. Deleting your account
Signed-in members can request account deletion from the account deletion page. If you can no longer sign in, the same page explains how to contact us. When a request is approved we close your sign-in account. Records the programme is required to keep, such as scholarship decisions, academic results, payments and audit history, are retained as described above.
9. Applicants under 18
The programme is for university students. Some applicants may be under 18. They must apply themselves, with their own verified identity, and we use their information only for the programme purposes above.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. For privacy questions or requests, email communityelites@gmail.com or use the contact page.
